I’ve been studying and practising traditional Oriental Medicine in various forms since the mid-1970s. In the early 1980s, I qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner (a style of Japanese massage that uses acupuncture points and channels).

I graduated from the three-year acupuncture course at the London School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989 (now the University of Westminster Acupuncture Course).

​

The following 16 years found me flying to China most years, where I continued to study and increase my knowledge and skills in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and to work at the Yueyang Hospital in Shanghai.

​

In 2004, the Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hangzhou (now the Hangzhou Medical University) appointed me as a visiting professor.

​

In 1996, I founded the South West College of Oriental Medicine. I taught acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for 18 years.

​

Between my China trips, I built a busy, successful practice in Bristol and studied Chinese herbal medicine and nutrition.

My practice is rooted in the ancient wisdom of Oriental Medicine, honed through extensive training in China. I blend this with contemporary nutritional insights to offer personalised treatments. I focus on empowering clients to prioritise their well-being, moving beyond quick fixes to sustainable health transformations.

​

I am a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians, the British Acupuncture Federation and the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners.
